Zydrunas Ilgauskas worked as hard on his defense as he did on making himself a top option in the post throughout his career. He spent thousands of extra hours in the gym working on his spacing, footwork, and timing in order to build himself into a premier shot blocker and rebounder. He blocked a career-best 201 shots in 2003-04, which were the fourth-most in the league that season. He was a beast that season, finishing with five blocks each in three of the campaign's final four games. He only had four games all season in which he didn't block at least one shot. He sent back the sixth-most shots the next season and finished his career in the top 50 in NBA shot blockers. He still ranks at 44th on the all-time NBA list with 1,327 career swats. He is the Cavaliers career leader in that category, as well as being the leader in games (771), rebounds (5,904) and offensive rebounds (2,336).
