Born in Shreveport; Louisiana; Parish was drafted by the Golden State Warriors in 1976 before being traded to the Boston Celtics in 1980 in the blockbuster deal that also brought Kevin McHale to Boston. With the Celtics (1980-1994); Parish formed one of the most celebrated frontcourts in NBA history alongside Larry Bird and Kevin McHale; winning three NBA Championships (1981; 1984; 1986). He later played for the Charlotte Hornets (1994-1996) and the Chicago Bulls (1996-1997); winning a fourth NBA Championship with Chicago.
