Varlamov was drafted in the 2006 NHL draft by the Washington Capitals, in summer of 2011 the Colorado Avalanche acquired Varlamov. Since being traded to the Avalanche, Varlamov has been the teams top goaltender in which he helped lead the team to a number one seed in the 2013/2014 playoffs. Varlamov is a four time Olympic medalist for the Russian National Hockey team, which includes three silver and one gold medal. This puck was signed on November 17, 2014 and includes a certificate of authenticity from Denver Autographs.
