Originally drafted by Philadelphia and then included in the landmark Eric Lindros trade, Peter Forsberg plied his trade with Modo Hockey in Sweden before making his NHL debut at the age of 21 on 1/21/95. In a sign of things to come, he notched an assist in his debut in a 3-1 win, coincidentally on the road against the Flyers. He had his first two-assist effort in the next game and finished his rookie season with six three-assist games in only 47 contests. He notched an even 50 points and captured the Calder Memorial Trophy as rookie of the year, beating out Capitals goalie Jim Carey and Mighty Ducks right wing Paul Kariya. Forsberg finished second on the team in both goals and assists to the man he'd skate next to for a total of 10 seasons – Joe Sakic. The Nordiques captured the Northeast Division that season in the final one in Quebec before the franchise relocated to Denver. This 25" x 17" framed piece features a designed image of a rookie Peter Forsberg in a Nordiques jersey focusing on the play ahead of him set behind an autographed acrylic stick blade signed in gold paint pen. His signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated's Five Step Process.
