Orange County was never known as a hockey hotbed until Teemu Selanne joined the organization in the mid-1990s. He spent 15 of his 21 NHL seasons in Anaheim and lifted the organization into mainstream hockey circles, the height of which was capturing the Stanley Cup in 2007. As beloved as the best athletes in Southern California's rich history, Selanne returned to Anaheim in a ceremony to retire his No. 8 on 1/11/15. "Salute" captures the moment as Teemu watches his #8 jersey being raised into the rafters, never to be worn again by another player. It was the first such honor in the history of the franchise. When he was traded to the Ducks on 2/7/96, he brought instant credibility to the budding franchise. He scored goals and garnered hardware, but the legacy he left as a leader and ambassador for the game on and off the ice has not gone unnoticed throughout the years. Selanne has signed this limited edition (50) Salute 16" x 20" image in silver paint pen. His signature and inscription are deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated's Five Step Process.
