The Charlotte Hornets had only been in existence for three years when the franchise made Larry Johnson the top pick in the 1991 NBA Draft. He was an immediate hit on and off the court. His overall talent and work ethic resulted in him earning the Rookie of the Year Award in '92 and earning Second Team All-NBA honors in '93. Off the court, he energized a fledgling basketball city in a state used to great success at the collegiate level. He helped bring the Hornets into the forefront of the Eastern Conference as they became one of the NBA's most popular teams. He helped develop the character "Grandmama" from his work with Converse and was one of the most marketed athletes of the 1990s. In basketball circles, he was simply known as LJ. Johnson has autographed this LJ 8" x 10" designed image in black paint pen. His signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated's Five Step Process.
