Grant Fuhr was born on 9/28/62 in Spruce Grove, Alberta, and grew up playing hockey in this small town outside of Edmonton. He began his playing career minding net for the Victoria Cougars in the junior WHL league. Fuhr was drafted in the first round of the 1981 NHL Entry Draft, and in the 1983-84 season, Fuhr set a record for the most points by a goaltender with 14. Fuhr represented Team Canada in net during the 1984 and 1987 Canada Cup Tournaments and was selected to the tournaments All-Star team in '87. Fuhr recorded nine wins and helped his team beat the Soviet Union to win the tournament. In game two of the three-game final, Fuhr played an amazing overtime and helped force the game to a second OT where Canada emerged victorious. Fuhr has autographed this limited edition (31) 1987 Canada Cup 16" x 20" image in silver paint pen. His signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated's Five Step Process.
