A golfer of South African descent, Gary Player came to the United States to play on the PGA Tour and instantly became one of the most popular and successful golfers in the country and the world. He created one of the most significant moments in the history of the U.S. Open when he teed off at the age of 29 in the 1965 tournament. His 18-hole playoff win over Kel Nagle gave him the career grand slam before his 30th birthday. It was the only U.S. Open win of his career, although he would go on to win a pair of U.S. Senior Open tournaments on the Champions Tour. The Black Knight was more successful across the pond as he was the only golfer in the 20th century to capture three British Opens in three different decades. Player was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame in 1974. Player has signed this limited edition (25) Black Polo shirt with purple pinstripes in silver paint pen. His signature is deemed authentic by virtue of Upper Deck Authenticated's Five Step Process.
