Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy made history on February 4, 2007, when the Colts defeated the Chicago Bears in Super Bowl XLI. Dungy became the first African American football coach to lead his team to a Super Bowl championship. Dungy's life in football began long before that memorable day, however, as he spent four years playing quarterback at the University of Minnesota and then switched to the safety position after turning pro with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
